Why this exists

The days after a crash produce an unusual amount of official-looking mail from parties who do not explain their relationship to each other. Insurers write about coverage, providers write about balances, third parties write about liens, and law firms write to be hired. Very little of it says plainly what it is or what the recipient is supposed to do.

The gap this site tries to fill is narrow and practical: describe the categories of document, point at the official record that settles each question, and be honest about where the answer depends on your state or your coverage.

What we do

• Write plain-language explanations of common accident correspondence.
• Link to primary sources — statutes, regulators, federal agencies — not to summaries.
• Publish a printable checklist that works entirely on paper, with no account and no uploads.
• Say clearly when something is a company's own claim rather than a checked fact.

What we are not

• Not a law firm, and not a source of legal advice. We cannot tell you what your lien means for your claim.
• Not an insurance company, agent or adjuster.
• Not a medical provider or billing service.
• Not a lien verification, negotiation or resolution service.
• Not a lead generator. We run no intake forms, no callback requests and no referral arrangements.
